What About Paint Color?

Just moved into your home and don’t like the paint colors? Maybe you need to freshen up your existing home for resale with a neutral palette most buyers will appreciate. Either scenario
is not as daunting as it may seem.

Believe it or not, you already know what colors you prefer. Look in your closet! If it is full of bright saturated colors, go bold on the walls, you’ll feel right at home! If neutrals and dark colors line your shelves and racks, stay in your comfort zone and choose tans, creams or light gray. A monotone palette can be very soothing after a long day at work. If you are adventurous, go very dark on the walls in black, chocolate brown or deep shades of purple. This may sound extreme but the look is quite modern and fresh in an otherwise bland room. Furnishings will come into play, too, when you add pops of color.

Don’t be afraid to venture out to the paint store and start looking. Many colors are on those chip cards for a reason. Pick a shade you like and all the other colors will blend. This works particularly well if you have an open concept home where other rooms are visible.

Paint is an easy, economical way to make big changes in your home. If the idea of doing it yourself is not something you envision there are plenty of reputable painters available. But if you love the idea of instant gratification grab a brush and roller and have at it!

LET’S EAT OUT!
Hi! This is Jeff, with some suggestions on where to eat in Honolulu. If you like a cross between Russian and Middle Eastern food, consider the Silk Road on Merchant street. The Uzbek husband-and-wife owners, Aki and Mamura, strive to give an authentic cuisine from their own country. They serve borscht, lagman, (a beef/vegetable/hand made noodle soup) and a variety of stuffed pastries including piroschki and samsa. Their current hours are from 10am to 3pm but may be opening for dinner if you hurry down and frequent their restaurant! You are welcome to bring your own adult beverage as they do not serve alcohol.
